Founder Dr. Carlos R. Cabrera was interviewed by El Nuevo Día newspaper as promotion for the SBIR Road Tour

BIDEA LLC founder, Dr. Carlos R. Cabrera was interviewed by El Nuevo Día newspaper as part of a promotion for the SBIR Road Tour at Puerto Rico. The tour seeks to connect entrepreneurs who work with innovative technologies with federal agencies that offer SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) grants in order to financially aid new companies reach commercialization stage.

We are grateful to the newspaper El Nuevo Día for sharing our success story and Fideicomiso de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Science, research & technology trust) for bringing the SBIR Road Tour to Puerto Rico and allowing us to be part of it.

BIDEA's CEO Ramonita Díaz Ayala was recognized by Colmena66 as part of the SBIR Road Tour

Ramonita Díaz Ayala, current CEO of BIDEA, LLC was recognized by Colmena66 as part of the group of women leading innovation in Puerto Rico. The SBIR Road Tour covers the work of three scientist business women from Puerto Rico who developed their technologies as part of  SBIR/STTR programs.

Puerto Rico SBTDC included BIDEA, LLC as a success story in their 2018 Annual Report 

March 2019

The Puerto Rico Small Business and Technology Development Centers (SBTDC) was established in 1997, being the principal assistance organization for small businesses in the Island, including partnerships from the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Small Business Administration, with PRIDCO and Caguas Municipality as enabelers. Their goal is to help Puerto Rico aspiring and existing entrepreneurs grow, innovate and export. President Dr. Carlos R. Cabrera, and Principal Investigator Ramonita Diaz-Ayala were recognize as a success story in SBTDC-PR 2018 annual report for the incorporation of BIDEA LLC and approval of the SBIR Phase 1 Award from NSF.

NSF approved the SBIR Phase I for BIDEA, LLC 

January 2018

The broader impact/commercial potential of this Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I project will be the implementation of an effective point-of-care (POC) testing device that will not only impact the lives of cancer patients, but also reduce costs for hospitals, health insurances companies and government agencies. The proposed screening technology is expected to help gynecologists in hospitals or in private practices to provide a complete diagnosis in less time, reducing the number of visits and the endometrial cancer incidence through an early detection, especially in women over 50 years old.
